It was also a chance for Danny Rose, Yago Falque and Ton Carroll, who were able to get 90 minutes under their belts to show what they could do again. Andros Townsend had 63 minutes whilst back from the Under 20 World Cup Harry Kane had 45 minutes. He was unlucky not to score when he hit the base of the post against the League One side but alas it wasn't to be.Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon missed the game, but only as a precaution after picking up minor knocks in training so they sat it out.
