Spurs former South African captain Bongo Khumalo, on loan at Doncaster Rovers this season, popped up a minute from time to head the winner for his new club.
Doncaster Rovers were playing Rochdale in the Capitol One Cup (League Cup to you and me) first round and won 1-0 thanks to Khumalo's header. He got on the end of a free-kick to settle the tie. This was Khumalo's second game for Doncaster, being described by his central defensive partner and captain after the first game as 'raw'.
On loan right-back Adam Smith played for Derby County in their 1-0 away win at Oldham Athletic also in the Capitol One Cup first round, the clubs first win in it since 2009.
Vlad Chiriches agent, Ioan Becali, has said that Chiriches is keen on a move to Italy. He told Tuttosport: “The player wants to go to a big club and Italy attracts him.”
With Spurs on the trail of a central defender Sporting (Lisbon) have slapped a £6 million price tag on 20 year-old Tiago Ilori, who it is reported is refusing to sign a new contract.
Isn't it amazing that Suarez, Rooney and Bale all have mysterious injuries that prevent them playing for the clubs that pay their wages, all that will miraculously clear up immediately should they get transferred!
Whilst Gareth is at the training ground he isn't training with the squad, poor show young man.
